The Chicago Tribune published an article titled "The 12 Drinks of Christmas:" they went to 12 bartenders in the area and asked them to come up with concoctions for the 12 days of Christmas. Unfortunately, they hint at what they provide, but don't provide recipes. I'd be curious what *your* 12 drinks would be. If you want a reference, I scanned the Tribune article: go to http://www.cleave.org/john/12drinksxmas.pdf. Thanks. Holidays impend, so I'm looking for recipes.

I'd like to try a Tom Collins aged in an oak barrel (carbonation added later). TC's always feel to me like they can use a bit of something, and that something may be whiskey tailings.

Delicious! On a whim I googled absinthe and cointreau because I had both and not much else other than single malt, and I'm glad I did. I agree; it reminds me of a Negroni in a way. Definitely a keeper.

Michael and Rob,
The Chang and the Eng cocktails at the reception were fabulous! Highly subtle and distinct flavors conjoined together in a cocktail glass created a complex drink that one wanted to sip slowly to enjoy the nuances of each ingredient. The layer of frothy egg white mixture with absinthe was subtle but complex. I had to resist the compulsion to just throw it all down, because as the flavors mixed together, it became a different taste experience. The Siamese twins would have been proud of these creations and have suffered a certain amount of pain if separated from these drinks. Cheers!
