About

Michael and Rob are using this space to record their occasional experiments with creating cocktails. We needed somewhere to write this stuff down, why not here?

Name inspired by Dorothy Parker’s famous “poem”:

I like to have a Martini,

two at the very most;

three, I’m under the table,

four I’m under my host!

  1. Love your blog! Your experimentation sounds exactly like what goes on in my neck of the woods.

  2. The Rum cocktail you refer to was a Calypso, which I took from Anthony Dias Blue’s Complete Book of Mixed Drinks. Oddly, the book was published in 1993, when falernum was nearly, if not completely, impossible to find. The drink was prepared with Appleton rum, Velvet Falernum, pineapple, fresh lime, and Angostura bitters.
